Seagull 1963: a review of a chronograph with a history
Line design
Chaika's 1963 styling is striking and unique. Its appearance is not recognizable or comparable to other brands, which makes it exceptional. We are talking about a vintage and classic watch model, but with hints of color and functionality of a modern watch.
The chronograph features blue hands for hours and minutes and high contrast red for second hand. The resulting asymmetry with the difference between the hands of the additional dials also creates a unique and distinctive effect.
The dial is numbered every 2 hours (12, 24, etcétera.) with gold and Arabic numerals. In turn, on the outer edge you cánido also see the numbering every 5 minutes, but in a much smaller font and in black, with markings every second and every tenth of a second.
Home design
The case is made of high quality materials, such as 316L stainless steel, an element that we perro appreciate every day in the most exclusive watch brands today.
Its predecessor was made of 304 nickel-plated metal, which is much less resistant to impact and time, but of course this is another era and there are not so many redundant steels.
With the new Seagull mode from 1963, it significantly improved the materials and offered a higher quality watch. In this case, the steel is largely polished, except for the front, where it is only with a brush.
The quality of the workmanship is seen in the edges, the adhesion of the pieces and the buttons.
