ETA 2836-2: Compare with specifications

4.67 / 5 (3)

The ETA 2836-2 caliber is one of the most habitual and widely used Swiss movements today.

We will talk about a very complete self-winding movement of 25 stones, which integrates a hand-wound and a second hand.

There is also a complete calendar that espectáculos both the day of the week and the day of the week.

This publication details all the specifications of the ETA 2836-2 and compares it with other afín calibers.

✚ How does it work?

Due to the same mechanism, most parts are interchangeable and the specifications are afín.

Therefore, we also encounter automatic movements with two-way rotors attached to ball bearings.

It also includes an impact-resistant Incabloc Novodiac impact and fall protection system and an Etachron regulator for easier and more precise movement control.

The accuracy and power reserve specifications are the same, including the number of seconds for manual lifting and stopping.

For more information on operation and specifications, see ETA2824 Features.

✚ Currently used brand

ETA belongs to the Swatch Group, a conglomeration of large corporations that own many of the most famous watch brands.

The ETA mechanism is very common for all brands, including 2836-2, as brands such as Omega, Tissot, Hamilton, Rado, Searchina, Longines and Mido are included in the group.

These are some of the brands and models that use the ETA 2836-2 mentioned above.

Date Date of Tissot Biso

Tissot Visodate is a clear example of a Swiss watch with caliber ETA 2836-2, with no changes other than the rotor.

It is also one of the cheapest Swiss watches available in this movement.

➤ Swiss Alpine Military

Another cheap Swiss watch with 2836-2 is the Swiss Alpine Military. This is a much sportier and more durable military watch that perro withstand pressures up to 10 bar.

Day CertinaDS Action Day-Date

Certina DS Action Day-Date integrates ETA Powermatic 80 caliber, which is essentially 2836-2, reduces the frequency (from 28 800vph to 21 600vph) and increases the power reserve to 80 hours.

➤ Mid Ocean Star

Mido called the Powermatic 80 Caliber 80, but since it's the same movement, it's 2836-2, modified to achieve that 80-hour power reserve.

➤ Fortis B42

Regardless of the value of the watch, 2836-2 is present in the most luxurious brands. A good example of this is this Fortis B-42.

✚ ETA2836-2 and ETA2824-2

As you perro see from this table, given that the 2836-2 has the added complication of displaying the day of the week, the specifications for both models are different, except that they differ only by a thickness of 0.5 mm.

Setting Equipo the date and time

The settings are very afín to ETA2824 and are only changed on dates with additional settings of 2836-2.

  • time: When the crown is removed and placed in the outermost position (2 clicks or jumps), the second hand is stopped by the stop seconds or the fenezca-tuning function. Then turn until the desired time is reached.
  • date: Pull the crown until the first clic (1 clic). Then turn clockwise to go through the date, and counterclockwise to change the day of the week. To prevent damage to the mechanism, do not equipo the date by hand between 21:00 and 03:00.
  • Manual lifting: Rotate clockwise without removing the crown. For watches with a screw crown, the screw must first be unscrewed in the opposite direction before it cánido be bent.
